Rules for the Use of SLHO Common Properties

Use of the Lake, Dam, and/or SLHO Lot 261:
- Use of the SLHO common properties is restricted to members of SLHO current in their annual assessments and to their guests, including fishing, boating, or swimming. Because the lake is private property, a fishing license is not required to fish.
- Homeowners are responsible for their guests, including damages to SLHO common properties, and are required to accompany their guests while on these properties. Violaters are subject to arrest as trespassers by the Jackon Police Department.
- No vehicles of any type are permitted on the dam at any time, except as authorized by the Property Committee or Board of Directors for maintenance.
- Fishing with trout lines or float jugs of any kind is prohibited on the lake.
- Boats on the lake may not exceed trolling speed (i.e., 'no wake') and must observe capacity limits.
- Life jackets are requested for all persons in a boat or in the water.
- Littering or dumping of any materials in the lake, on the dam, or on the SLHO lot is prohibited.
- Pumping of water from the lake for use by individual homeowners or their guests is prohibited.
- Persons are not permitted on the SLHO lot/pavilion after sundown without a permit from the Propery Chairman, including a fee for the use of electricity.
- Children under age 12 must be supervised at all times by an adult on the SLHO lot/pavilion.
- No alcoholic beverages or firearms are permitted on the SLHO common properties.
- No animals, including pets, are allowed on the SLHO lot/pavilion.
- Parking at the SLHO lot is permitted by current members and guests only for access to the dock and during scheduled events at the Pavilion. Public parking is prohibited.
Use of the SLHO Lot 261/Pavilion for Social Activities: The homeowner is responsible to:
- Notify the Chairperson of the Properties Committee or the President of the Board of Directors prior to the event in order to assure its availability (on a first-come, first-serve basis) and to provide time to prepare the facility for use.
- Clean up after each use, including removal of all trash.
- Be responsible financially for any damage to the facility, including by guests.
- Pay a $10.00 fee for night time use.
- Keep the noise level down and observe an 11:00 pm curfew.
SLHO Lot 261 Gate Keys: The homeowner is responsible to:
- Keep the lot gate key in a secure place; do not duplicate the key or transfer it to any other persons.
- Lock the gate when entering and leaving the lot; do not leave the gate open at any time.
- Forfeit the lot key for examination by the Property Committee or Board of Directors.
- Failure to forfeit the lot key by the homeowner or guest may cause suspension of lake privileges for the remainder of the year or other actions as deemed necessary (e.g., charging the homeowner for changing all locks and keys).
