A Covenant Protected Community
Welcome
to the
Swan Lake Community
‘Show your Road Strip’
Please remember to trim your road edge back to the edge of the asphalt, keep the white strip a clear path, and blow grass, leaves, and pine straw back into the yard, not out on the street (a violation of Jackson City Ordinance Art IV Storm Water Quality Protection, Sec 122-304 Prohibited Practices). This road marker helps to protect pedestrians and bikers traffic, especially two passing vehicles, between sunset and sunrise, and during inclement weather.
SLHO Neighborhood Watch
The SLHO community participates in the Jackson Neighborhood Watch. In addition to being alert to any suspicious activities in the general community, the specific watch area of each home is five houses - the two next door and the three across the street. Residents are encouraged to exchange information and record the names, house number, cell phones, and other contact information for these five neighbors; to keep each other informed about anticipated activities, such as vacations, contract workers, visitors; to keep a watch on these five homes; and to call JPD at 911 if any untoward activities occur. Working together we can keep our community safe and secure.

Fishing Fever
With the arrival of warm weather comes an epidemic of 'fever' to fish on our beautiful Swan Lake. As responsible homeowners, please adhere to our covenants and rules concerning the lake, dam, and Pavilion:
* Homeowners must be current in their annual assessment to have access to common properties or be on the lake.
* Homeowners are responsible for their guests, including damages, while on their property and the lake, dam, and Pavilion.
* For safety and security reasons, homeowners or adult family members must be home while their guest are fishing on their property and must be with the guests while in a boat on the lake or on the dam or at the Pavilion. Violators are subject to arrest as trespassers by the Jackson Police Department.
* Each person in a boat is requested to have a personal flotation device (i.e., a life jacket) in the boat; children 12 and under are required to be wearing a personal flotation device while in a boat on the lake.
* Boats on the lake are limited to trolling speed (i.e., 'no wake') and must observe boat capacity limits.
* Fishing with trout lines or float jugs of any kind is prohibited.
*Littering or dumping of any materials into the lake, on the dam, or on the Pavilion lot is prohibited.
* No alcohol or firearms arms are permitted on any SLHO common properties.
* No vehicles of any type are permitted on the dam, except as authorized by the Board of Directors or Property Committee.
Problems and concerns may be reported to any member of the SLHO Board of Directors. Thank you for helping to protect our beautiful Swan Lake and community.
